Sometimes
other things take priority over modeling. It happened to us
this year and we didn't do much. Below is a summary of what
we did get done. Advantage is that, unbeknown to ourselves,
the layout is nearly done...
This is the contraption we made up, to store the layout without
it taking too much space. If an exhibition comes up,
we put the wheels under it and push the entire layout
in one go to the venue.
The nuts and bolts we used to align the various sections
proved unreliable and not accurate enough, so a family
member who had access to a lathe turned some precision
pins. Now the sections fit perfectly every time.
At the front we installed a usefull connector for LocoNet.
This device came from Uhlenbrock.
Just before we went to the
Modelspoorexpo in Mechelen (Belgium) we stepped up the pace
to get the overhead system perfected, including this old-fashioned
transformer building.
