  January/february 2003

The loco shed is starting to get shape. We still don't know what or which vehicle will be based here.

House on stilts, building in progress.

    March/april 2003

Scratchbuilding everything often takes days, weeks, months... So we'll do another picture of the house on stilts, somewhat further in it's progress.

Furthermore we were happily glueing styrofoam and smearing out plaster so the rocky bottom spreads out further and further...

  MAY 2003

Way back in Dec 2001 the foundation for the largest Orkhavnbanen loco was layed. Based on a Roco Mariazellerbahn frame this 'fantastic' loco was being build when Frodo took it for a photoshoot in it's still white livery...

    June 2003

....which, after spending considerable time in the paintbooth, came out pretty well! The photo depicts the freshly painted model (paint really just dried!) so without it's currentcollector and other loose parts.

A paintjob of quite a different kind was putting down two coats of yacht varnish on the 'paster-waves' so the water gets the mirror effect.

Putting down these layers of varnish also required the docks had to be finished, so they could be placed "in" the water. This is the dock for the ferry to Trondheim :-)

  JulY 2003
The fishermen calling Orkhavn home use little sheds to store their gear. A number of those sheds during construction.

Messing about with 'the green stuff' for a few nights lead to this neat little piece of landscape getting more and more attractive.

  August 2003

In the summermonths weeds grow aggressively, even on styrofoam...

...but installed on the layout it's actually quite cute.

  September 2003

The aforementioned selection of sheds were painted in bright Scandinavian colors and the surrounding area detailed richly with weeds (still more!) and unclassified junk from the fishermen.

    October 2003

Now the landscape is getting it's final appearance the overhead wires need to be installed on several places as it's near impossible to get to later on.

    November 2003

What's a loco without something to pull? We build several cars and coaches, one is depicted here. Bogies are from Bemo, the rest is Evergreen strip and profiles glued together. Really, we were just lucky that it resembles a freightcar ;-)

  December 2003

The terminus on the other side of the layout. Missing windows and doors, but it's a start...
